Feeding your Bengal
Your bengal should only be fed as much food as it needs to maintain its optimal body weight and condition. Ribs should not be visible and there should be no excessive fat.   Excessive fat is usually most noticeable between the back legs in the abdominal region.

"I'm bored, feed me meat, please"

We free-choice feed our bengals IAMS kibble with a meat dish in the morning and in the afternoon.  They will usually eat every few hours all day long if left to themselves.  Always keep plenty of fresh water available for your bengal as you will find they have quite a thirst.   Our bengals absolutely love "Bonita Flakes" as a treat, you can find them in your local pet store and most feline shows sell it by the bag.

High-quality commercially prepared cat foods have been scientifically developed to give your cat the correct balance of nutrients and calories.   Buy the highest-quality food you can afford. Lower-quality foods may cost you less today, but they can increase your cat's chances of developing health problems in the future.

A word about food boredom:  It's not uncommon for cats to tire of the same old thing day in and day out. Provide a variety in the form of different flavors and textures of wet food.  Always gradually introduce any new brand of food to prevent digestive upset.

Never feed your cat human food such as table scraps, bones, or high-fat meats. Contrary to popular myth, milk is not necessary for cats and may cause digestive upset.   Meat, however, is necessary for cats (because it produces essential metabolites); that's why placing your bengal on a low-meat or no-meat diet is never recommended.

Supplements

On top of feeding our bengals a top quality kibble and meat diet, we also supplement them daily with "Nutrimalt".  It is a paste that your cat will literally take from a tube in the form of a squeezed ribbon.   You can find this supplement at your loca pet store.   It has a malty taste which they love.   It is great for coats and skin and a wonderful source of protein.
